ShambaJijini Summit
16th to 31st of October 2021
James Kagwe
"My mission is to make the world a better place for everyone."
James is the vision carrier and director at Waste to Best Environmental Action. He and his team are collecting, segregating, recycling the waste in a Naivasha neighborhood. They are turning waste into a resource.
In the video, which also features Tumshangilieni Mtoto Children's Home and School, we follow the waste all the way from the households to the permaculture garden, where the compost is being used. Only 5% of the collected waste goes to the landfill! James explains and demonstrates how waste can be transformed into resources, and how a whole neighborhood benefits from his work
We also consider Tumshangilieni Mtoto Children’s home and school a role model, where greywater (and black water) is being recycled in the school's permaculture garden.
