Evans Maina Ngure
Evans Maina Ngure is a creator and sculptor living and working in Nairobi, Kenya. He uses an assortment of discarded material and found objects for animal collages, sculptures, jewelry, light pieces and most recently installations. Through his work, Evans aims to inspire a generation to see waste not as nothing, but something they can build a future from. In addition, Evans' work aims to celebrate animals as important players in our ecosystem's wellbeing.
In the summit, Evans and Milena Weichelt talk about their work as professional artists. They share their thoughts on the role of art and artists in the world today, and the relationship with climate change. Both have unique art styles, but they all have the underlying principle of recycling and reduction of waste in the environment. We call it regenerative art!

Thank you Shamba Jijini for this conference. The interview with Millena and Evans wraps up very nicely how we can incorporate regenerative living in all aspects of our. They both give interesting tips on how to go about it. I am also inspired to look out for their art – and now I have a different, more positive perspective of the metal art style of artists like Evans.
